Safe, Clean & Green
Colwick Parish Council strives to play a full and active role in preserving the quality of life of local people. Our drivers as your local representatives are to:
- Help people feel safe and secure
- Protect and enhance the environment of our village
- Provide grassroots “on the ground” support for the community
- Build the capacity of residents to help themselves
We strive to keep the parish tidy through working with partners, supporting community activity and through our part-time Ranger (commencing in early 2025).
Community Safety

Parts of the parish currently benefit from a Public Space Protection Order and we work continually in partnership with Nottinghamshire Police and Gedling BC to make our community and it's roads safer. More details can be found at Public space protection orders - Gedling Borough Council
Colwick Community Flood Signage Scheme
Following the flooding that affected the village as a result of Storm Henk, we are working closely with local volunteers to establish the Colwick Community Flood Signage Scheme. Managed by the County Council, the CFSS allows trained members of the community to close roads during times of flooding. The scheme promotes road safety, but also aims to stop vehicles creating bow waves which can cause further damage to property and distress to residents. If you want to get involved, please contact the Parish Clerk.
Making Colwick Greener
Colwick PC takes an active role in the stewardship of the local area to protect the village’s environment and biodiversity and ensure development is sustainable and in the interests of the local community. We work closely with local groups and partners to make Colwick a green and clean place to live. We also think local communities can work together to tackle global issues.
