Bonfire Guidance

Ensuring our local environment is clean and pleasant for all our residents is a priority for the Council and we work closely with statutory bodies to help raise awareness. Although Gedling BC has designated Colwick a Smoke Control Zone, the order only covers smoke emitted from building chimneys and not open bonfires, BBQs and the like.

Although bonfires are permitted, inconsiderate use can still be considered a statutory nuisance and reported accordingly if it impacts adversely on the health and quality of life of nearby residents.

If you are thinking of using a bonfire, please be think carefully and refer to the useful guidance provided by Gedling BC Smoke control - Gedling Borough Council

Please refer the attached for further guidance.
